Cisco Bug: CSCsz57422 - traffic loss due to unlabelled path - ldp incorrectly sending withdrawal

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

3.6.2.MPLS 3.9.0.MPLS

Description (partial)

When an ipv4 address is unconfigured on an LDP enabled interface (Interface A) and assigned to another LDP enabled interface (interface B) to the same peer as the prior interface (Interface A), then the original interface (Interface A) is configured with a new address, an address withdrawal message may be incorrectly sent to the peer resulting in an unlabelled path and traffic loss.

This issue was seen on 3.6.2 and is present in releases prior to 3.9.0. This issue is not always hit as a race condition exists between collaborating processes. Recovery is possible if interface shut/no shut is done or mpls_ldp process is restarted.
