Cisco Bug: CSCsz54844 - Active crash when standby in config_sync can cause config loss

Last Modified

Jan 30, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco ACE 4700 Series Application Control Engine Appliances

Known Affected Releases

3.0(0)A3(2.2.45)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

After a series of reboots, both ACE appliances could end up without their context configs.

Conditions:

If Ace-1, the active, crashes and reloads, after it reboots it will read the first half of startup-config, establish FT with Ace-2, the new active, and perform a config sync to grab the rest of the configs from Ace-2. If Ace-2 crashes at this point, then Ace-1 will not have obtained the rest of the configs, including context configs. Context configs can be lost although they still exist in startup-config.
