Cisco Bug: CSCsz53614 - Incorrect notification sent to OSPF when subinterface added
Feb 15, 2018
- Cisco IOS
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: OSPF adjacency on the main interface flaps when an the first sub-interface is created or the last sub-interface is deleted. Conditions: Cat6k1 ------ Cat6k2 connected via any gige link with IP addresses configured on both sides 1. Configure OSPF between these two devices ensure neighbors are in up state. 2. Add a subinterface on any one side (e.g. interface GigE2/1.100) and set the encapsulation on the interface (encapsulation dot1q 100) 3. Notice that the OSPF adjacency on the main interface resets immediately even though the encapsulation on the main interface was not changed.
