Cisco Bug: CSCsz52926 - Input counters stop after unidirectional receive config change on 6704

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco 7600 Series Routers

Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)

Symptom:

A 10GE port on a WS-X6704-10GE linecard may not receive data when configured
for unidirectional receive. Even though the link is reported UP, rx counters
do not accumulate and no traffic is received.

  Conditions:
The port fails to receive traffic if the port is currently in the 'no shut'
state and then the port configuration is changed to 'undir receive'. The
failure only occurs when certain xenpak transceivers are used, and the commands
are issued in the sequence noted above.

The port does not fail if 'unidir receive' is first configured and then the
port is 'no shut'. The failure never occurs if 'unidir receive' is previously
configured (and saved) and then the system (or linecard) is reloaded.

The following transceiver(s) can exhibit the problem:
(output snipped from) Router # show idprom int Ten M/P

   Transceiver vendor name :CISCO-OPNEXT,INC
Part number provided by transceiver vendor :10-2014-01
Revision level of part number provided by vendor :02
   Vendor serial number :XXXXXXXXX

The following transceivers do not exhibit the problem:
