The "Retain Forward Information" service parameter help text doesn't completely describe the scenarios which it impactssettings accomplish.


 'Retain Forward Information' set to True ensures the callType remains the same through the entire duration of the call, not only after the phone goes off hook.

If a call is transferred to a phone having CFA to another phone (when this service parameter is set to False), the Display information of the final destination phone changes from 'Forwarded for ..." to 'From ...' when the second Transfer softkey is pressed. This is due to the callType changing from 'Forward' to 'Inbound' when the second Transfer softkey is pressed. In this case, the display information on who the call was forwarded from, is lost.

If the service parameter is set to True, the callType is preserved to be 'Forward' throughout the duration of the call. Hence, the display information on the final destination IP phone doesn't change when a Transfer is completed, or when the phone goes off hook to answer the call.
