Cisco Bug: CSCsz51698 - In rare client conn patterns & overload, emails duplicate or send fails

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) Appliances

Known Affected Releases

4.1(1c) 4.1(3)

Description (partial)

Outlook client sees multiple duplicated emails or there are send email failures.
On the edge WAAS device, some of the connections show up as 'TDM' while some other connections from the same client show up as 'TDGM' when viewed via 'show stat connections optimized mapi' CLI.

Due to TFO overload or other reasons, connection reservation by MAPI-AO for a new client fails and the connection is in the process of being handed over to Generic-AO since it cannot be optimized by MAPI-AO.
While the hand-over is in progress, the client immediately opens a new connection.
