Cisco Bug: CSCsz42043 - OSPF originating orphan TE LSA

Last Modified

Feb 15, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco IOS

Known Affected Releases

12.2(33)SRC2

Description (partial)

Symptom:

OSPF may keep self-originated type-10 TE LSAs in its link state database that
do not correspond to valid entries in the OSPF TE fragment table. These LSAs
may duplicate valid link descriptions and confuse TE.

In particular, the presence of duplicate link description LSAs can cause
automatically computed FRR backup tunnels to flap and issue log messages like:

670113: Apr 26 04:02:27.999 GMT: %MPLS_TE-5-TUN: Tun18002: LSP path change nil
for 18002_1, tunnel shutdown
670114: Apr 26 04:02:28.331 GMT: %MPLS_TE-5-TUN: Tun18002: LSP path change
18002_1 for nil, normal

Conditions:

This can only be seen if OSPF is being used to advertise a MPLS TE topology.
