When configured in transparent firewall mode (single or multiple context), the ASA 5580  exhibits a significant performance drop as followed:

-New connection setup rate is maxed out at around 110,000 (110K) connections per second (CPS). This is about approximately 35% drop as compared to routed mode (datasheet validated number) of 150,000 (150K) CPS. 

-Packet per second (PPS) rate is maxed out at around 1,300,000 (1.3M) which is approximately 66% of the datasheet validated number (4M PPS).
