Cisco Bug: CSCsz17010 - Avoid sending traps for v1-RP-Probes and throttle rate of other traps
Jan 11, 2017
- Cisco Carrier Routing System
Known Affected Releases
None Symptoms: PIM process sends Invalid-Register traps upon receiving a PIMv1-RP-Probe message. The rate of the traps is high. Conditions: Since PIM on IOS-XR does not support PIMv1, it drops PIMv1 RP-Probe (Register) packets. It also generates traps for them at the rate of 25 per second. This can result in a high CPU utilization of the transports in the system.
