Cisco Bug: CSCsz14474 - Iscsi MS netboot initators could not see their LUNs after reboot

Last Modified

Feb 22, 2014

Products (1)

  • Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches

Known Affected Releases

3.3(3)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

iSCSI Microsoft netboot initiator could not see their LUNs after booting up

Conditions:

When Microsoft netboot iscsi driver boots up, it creates a session to the target to read the boot disk. Once that is done, the regular iSCSI driver creates another session to the same target. However, the two drivers use the same iSCSI initiator name so it appears to the switch as duplicate sessions. SANOS version 3.3(1c) does not handle this properly causing the problem.
