Cisco Bug: CSCsz09478 - IPv6 standby error in HAS wizard

Last Modified

Nov 10, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager

Known Affected Releases

6.2(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

If an IPv6 address is configured in single mode or in the admin context of multiple mode, then the HAS wizard will demand a corresponding standby IPv6 address. When finishing the HAS wizard, the CLI generated produces an error since the platform does not support standby IPv6 addresses.

The HAS wizard should not demand IPv6 standby addresses and should warn users that failover of IPv6 connection are not supported in current ASA OS versions such as 8.2.1 and earlier.

Conditions:

Running the ASDM HAS wizard with an IPv6 address is configured in single mode or in the admin context of multiple mode with ASA or PIX operating systems 8.2.1 or earlier.
