Cisco Bug: CSCsz05038 - LDP syslogs are not correlated to link down / Interface status down

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Prime Network

Known Affected Releases

3.6(7)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

LDP Neighbor Down syslogs are not correlated to link down / Interface status down (higher root cause , in general).
Conditions:

in 3.6.7. The scenario works if the interfaces used for LDP are not part of a VRF. The syslogs are properly correlated to "Ldp Neighbor down" service events, which in turn correlated to a higher root cause (like Link Donw or "Tunnel Down") depending on network configuration.

However, in case the interfaces are part of a VRF, there is not enough information in the syslog text to properly correlate the event. This is an IOS issue, the syslog does not specify the VRF to which an IP interface belongs. Going over all VRFs might yield wrong result as there might be duplicate IPs in different VRFs and this might cause false correlation. Leaving the bug in
"Closed" state as no solution can be provided currenlty.
