When a call is made over SIP-H.323 tandem ICTs, and the callee presses hold, there is no MOH heard on the caller side. Also, regardless of which direction the initial call is made, if the phone on the H.323 ICT side presses hold after the phone on the SIP ICT side resumes, then the phone on the SIP ICT side will not hear MOH.


This issue can be seen if the audio codec negotiated between the endpoints is not supported by the MOH server; for example, if G.722 is negotiated between the endpoints, and the MOH server only supports G.711. In this case, there will be an attempt to allocate a transcoder for G.711-to-G.722. If there is no transcoder available, then there will be no MOH heard.
