Cisco Bug: CSCsy94947 - J: UCONN WCS showing AP Auth failed with MAC of MSE

Last Modified

Jun 10, 2010

Products (1)

  • Cisco 4400 Series Wireless LAN Controllers

Known Affected Releases

6.0(71.0)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
WCS shows AP Auth failed trap with MAC of MSE when NMSP session between WLC and MSE fails

Conditions:
When MSE tries to establish a NMSP session with the WLC but for some reason the autherization fails, then the WLC sends a trap to WCS. This trap does not have enough information for WCS to distinguish this as a MSE related trap. So, WCS defaults to AP authorization failure trap, with a MSE mac address.
