Symptom: AIS: MIP continue to send AIS PDU upon intermediate sw/mod reset Conditions: On a Catalyst 6500 series switches running software version 8.7(3). 1, Between ES and MAS box, there exist a 4 port PaGP channel. 2, reset the ES box 3, At the time of switch goes down in the reset process, you will notice that the AIS fault gets detected for all the vlans upto the level 6 switches in the left and right. including level 3, level 4, level 2 MEPs 4, When the switch comes back with the port and channel up and spanning forwarding state for all the vlans as before. Level 3, Level 4, Level 2 MEPs clears the AIS condition. But Level 6 MIP continue to send AIS PDU for all the vlans to CEs.
