Cisco Bug: CSCsy79868 - CBS-30x0 Broadcasts blocked by mac acl based vacl

Last Modified

Products (1)

Known Affected Releases

12.2(50)SE

Description (partial)

Symptom:

When a mac acl is used with a vlan access-map broadcasts will be blocked - even if they are permitted by using "permit any host ffff.ffff.ffff" in the mac access-list.

Here is an example of such a config:

mac access-list extended AllowBroadcasts
 permit any host ffff.ffff.ffff

vlan access-map AllowBroadcasts 10
 action forward
 match mac address AllowBroadcasts

vlan filter AllowBroadcasts vlan-list 10

This will still block broadcasts in that vlan - even though they are permitted by the mac acl.

Conditions:

Issue has been seen on all types of blade center switches in the 30x0 series running 12.2(50)SE.
