Symptom: On a 7600/Cat6k with SUP720 running 12.2(33)SRC3 we might see : %EOBC-3-NOEOBCBUF: No EOBC buffer available. Dropping the packet. This is a side effect of the new MFI Stat collection feature: CPU utilization for five seconds: 98%/3%; one minute: 62%; five minutes: 60% PID Runtime(ms) Invoked uSecs 5Sec 1Min 5Min TTY Process 246 2010488 8622 233181 75.27% 43.00% 40.58% 0 MFI LFD Stats Pr 134 460428 2742 167916 14.23% 9.39% 9.24% 0 CFIB LC STATS Ta The EOBC tx rate is really high (almost 5 Mbps) c7600-2-dfc3#show eobc | i rate rx rate (bits/sec) = 56000 rx rate (packets/sec) = 88 tx rate (bits/sec) = 4470000 tx rate (packets/sec) = 398 Conditions: Hardware/SW is 12.2(33)SRC3 and PFC3BXL Customer is running a simulated internet routing table in a VRF (e.g. 270K routes and allocate 270K local labels). When doing this AND sending lots of traffic through a TenGigabitEthernet DFC linecard, we get the following EOBC messages printed all the time.
