Cisco Bug: CSCsq84250 - DHCP Relay and DHCP Proxy conflict if both are configured.
Sep 22, 2021
- Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: ASA users see the following error message if DHCP Proxy Client is configured and they are trying to configure DHCP Relay: "DHCP: Cannot enable DHCP Relay on an interface running DHCP Proxy. Remove VPN DHCP config first." Or, users that have both DHCP Relay and DHCP Proxy Client, see their VPN connections attempting to use DHCP Proxy failing. If they have dhcpc debugs turned on they will see the following message: "DHCP: Cannot enable DHCP Proxy on an interface running DHCP Relay, Relay Server, or Server." This is an enhancement request to allow coexistence of DHCP Relay and DHCP Proxy Client. Conditions: DHCP Relay (either dhcprelay server or dhcprelay enabled) and DHCP Proxy Client configured for the same interface. Example: dhcprelay server 192.168.70.13 inside dhcprelay enable WAN tunnel-group USER_VPN_ACCESS general-attributes dhcp-server 192.168.70.13 group-policy CiscoVPNClient attributes dhcp-network-scope 192.168.111.1
