Symptoms: Failure on upgrading rommon image on standby PRP when destination image is 12.0(32)S4. router#upgrade rom-monitor slot 1 Checking ROMMON on slot(s): [ ] Continue standby RP ROM upgrade? [yes/no]: yes Upgrading RP ROM in slot 1. After upgrade, the RP will be reset. CCC SEC 1:00:03:27: %IPCGRP-3-UNKNOWNCMDMSG: Received Unknown IPC command (cmd=39) CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC %IPCGRP-3-SYSCALL: System call for command 39 (slot1/0) : ipc_send_rpc_blocked timed-out (Cause: timeout) Unsuccessful in programming RP ROM Monitor Need to physically replace RP ROM Contact your technical support representative Conditions: This occurs when typing the command "upgrade rom-monitor slot <standby RP>" on the active PRP when the 2 PRP are running different IOS images.
