Cisco Bug: CSCsg36286 - OSPF does not see GMPLS tunnel as an ospf enabled intf after RP FO

Last Modified

Jan 10, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

3.4.0.BASE

Description (partial)

Router platform (CRS|XR12k)
IOS-XR Version: 3.4 release

Symptom:
After an RP FO, the ospf adjacency configured over a GMPLS tunnel does not recover. After the RP failover is complete the ospf process does not see a gmpls tunnel as a valid and configured igp interface eventhough the gmpls tunnel configuration clearly exists under the ospf configuration.

Conditions:
This problem is specifically linked to the configuration of a GMPLS tunnel as an ospf configured
interface and RP FailOver. If the user configures a GMPLS tunnel as an ospf enabled interface,
establishes and IGP adjacecny over it, and then performs a failover then the ospf adjacency over
the GMPLS tunnel is lost. Please note that this happens only if the user has a interface with no ip address configured under ospf along side the tunnel-te interface.
