Symptom: When booking a conference in Outlook with eg the name "Russelsheim" or "Progress on Russe" early in the subject line in Outlook, The following error is generated: Error: The Text Name of a meeting cannot be longer than 17 characters. Error: The Meetingplace cannot accept the scheduling information because there was an error: 22569 "Progress on Russe" is exactly 17 characters - however the code in meetingplace does not see u as just one character but as two or more. The u-umlaut is a Unicode character, 4 bytes long. Encoded in UTF-8 by our web pages, it still takes 2 bytes to represent when sent to the MP server. The MeetingPlace server, however, only has room for 17 single byte characters in its database, which is why it returns the error. You will see the same thing from the Web. Condition: Web 5.3. Workaround None.
